It has been 20 years since Jonny Jingo, leader and driving force behind the DC-based popular Alt-Rock/Punk band compulsives, shared a stage with the members of The Slambovian Circus of Dreams. 20 years of travels and adventures; finally the road has once again brought these old friends together. Compulsives headlined The Bayou on multiple occasions, while songs such as “Tragic Innocence” and “The Hunger” were played on radio stations around the world–including regular rotation in major markets such as Dallas and Chicago. Billboard gave “Tragic Innocence” a hearty thumbs-up in its review.
Jonny Jingo’s current musical project is Lumen Jingos: a melodic blend of original songs where folk, progressive, rock, and americana meet and greet. Imagine music and lyrics in the center of a triangle of influences from early Peter Gabriel, Gram Parsons, and REM. Heavily featuring 12-string guitars, fingerpicking, and compelling poetry and arrangements, Lumen Jingos offers organic songs, non-GMO certified.
Lumen Jingos released the EP “Tripple Epple” in May 2016, and will release the full album “Again” in October 2016. Jonny Jingo is an enthralling live performer who connects with audiences through stories of the road less traveled and songs from a different triangle: the imperfect percolations of body, mind, and spirit.
